I have today off, as I requested it. It's really nice to have three days off in a row. Also, I get paid more than my hourly wage when I have PTO, which makes sense, as I make more than my hourly wage when I'm there. The silly thing is that I average more than my "time and a half" wage by taking the holiday off, so of course I have no inspiration to work it if it can be avoided. Enough about that, I'm just happy for the extra rest.
It occurs to me that we are only so broke because we are trying to stick to a budget. We are behind on one major bill, mind you, but we'll put that to rest soon. I am proud of myself for not spending money just because it's in the account. Sure, I could spend some money on a few maternity clothes items today, but we have budgeted the expense for this coming weekend when we both have checks coming in.
It sucks that things are as tight as they are, but we aren't exactly living off of ramen noodles and sunshine. I do worry about all the upcoming expenses as my pregnancy progresses, though, to say nothing of having the baby. But worry is in my nature, and some things are healthy to worry about.
Michael came home with rumblies in his tumbly. I feel mean for recoiling from his kiss, but dude, no germs for me, thanks! I still knew exactly where the Immodium AD was from my "oh crap, maybe this isn't the flu, maybe I'm pregnant" crisis in April. I ordered him to take two, and have just sent him off to bed.
We went on a beautiful drive through the redwoods yesterday. Naturally all the parks were jam packed. Anyway we had a lovely time of it. There were all kinds of produce stands, and fruit trucks open. I insisted we stop and get some cherries that were being sold in one, four, and six dollar baskets. We went with the four dollar basket and I have devoured the entire thing already. I want more. I gotta say that the best thing about summer is all the yummy fruit.
PS: I didn't hate X-Men 3. It was worth seeing, though I do have some complaints. All in all the film is enjoyable, if somewhat rushed and there are too many new characters for such time constraints. Sit through the credits.
