what's in a name?

Before you read any further, this is IMHO.
And it’s an emotional type rant about fandom. I know some of you probably don’t understand, I don’t expect you to be in my shoes and be as affected. In fact I wished I could be you, and maybe my life would be that much better, not having to worry about such issues because really I don’t enjoy having my emotions being determined by the words they say, the controversies that surrounds them. Sure there are great moments too, wonderful memories of perhaps concerts, fan-meets, awards winning that warms your heart.
But ultimately, how real can those moments be? They slowly become a figment of memory that fades with time… right?
I do wake up from my self-made inception every now and then hoping I could quit it but the more I try to pull away somehow I fall deeper. I am hoping like everyone else around me that I will outgrow this phase too. Because I don’t like it affecting my real life too, I am turning 25 for goodness sake!
Anyway, what sparks this post?
Homin’s comeback and Junsu’s recent tweets
I have considered lots of possibilities with regards to the split of TVXQ into JYJ + HoMin. Is the name that important? Do you love the name or the people behind that name? I know a name after a while represents who they are but really. If JYJ & HoMin were to come together again, have a reunion but under another name like YJYJC or something are you saying you won’t support them anymore?
Right now there are 3 camps of fans, the Team Neutrals that love them no matter what and support all 5 of them, Team JYJ and Team HoMin.
Su’s recent tweet did break my heart, he sound so dejected and devastated. But I honestly don’t think he said what he did to infuriate the fans, to stir up their feelings about HoMin’s comeback as TVXQ But then again, I am giving him the benefit of the doubt.
I am trying to take everything I read with a pinch of salt. HoMin are smart people, I don’t think they will take it laying down if they were treated in an unfair manner. If SME was so bad, shouldn’t have other groups failed by now? See, there’s more than meets the freaking eye and we don’t know about those things that stays hidden.
So far everything we read are through SME official page, I am sure everything is scrutinized before released. So even if Yunho said something like “Please support and buy our albums and JYJ’s too” it will never be printed.
Their hands are all tied up. There’s only so much they can do or say without letting up too much. But what they need is for the very people who claim to love them and protect them to understand them.
Before, I was a poor kid, listening to illegal downloads and LQ rips of H.O.T. Right now I am still waiting for their reunion. Waiting for their comeback, and if I could wait that long for them. I can do the same for Yunho, Jaejoong, Yoochun, Junsu, Changmin. Especially now I have the financial means to fly to travel to attend concert.
I never did hate on JTL or JunTa. (But yes I was angry with SME for taking them away) I supported them all, even when JTL eventually broke up (silently) and went on to solo careers. I still look at them as H.O.T, and when Tony danced to candy recently on Oh my School! My hearts did back flips like the old days, it’s touching, and it’s beautiful. (And Heejun joining Tony in TAXI? That was wonderful as well)
Because the lawsuit controversies has yet to end, and it’s still so damn fresh. We won’t know the truth. Not yet, not anytime soon, probably a few years down the road, when new groups replaced them and they are not bound by anything then maybe we will hopefully get to know the truth. That’s fandom for you.
And really, everything is just a name. Because honestly, I really don’t consider myself a Cassiopeia, neither do I consider myself a white angel, SHINHWA CHANGJO, ELF, VIP, BLACKJACK, SONE. (It’s a term I used for easier identification sake)
I just love them all, and I support them. But sure no doubt I have my bias in them as well.
I don’t love TVXQ as much as I love Jung Yunho, Kim JaeJoong, Park YuCheon, Kim JunSu and Shim ChangMin.
See I even refrain from saying U-Know Yunho, Micky Yoochun, Xiah… etc. you get what I mean.
Those names IMO are there for you to identify yourself as someone, make you feel part of something larger. But I don’t really need that, because I am contented just being known as a YunBear, BooJae, Chunnie, Suie, Minnie lover.
Why can’t we love without hating?
If you really want to brand yourself as a Cassiopeia, than love them all because you are not one if you can’t love them all. And if you hate on one side or boycott the other, then really, you are ultimately just a bias… so don’t tarnish the name of TVXQ or Cassiopeia if it means that much to you…
And again these are my thoughts, my words.
I just need to get this off my chest. And no I m not putting it under cut.
