Happy New Year!

Dec 31, 2006 16:14

Merry Christmas, everyone! I thought I would have posted earlier, but no, I guess this will be more of a "Happy New Year" post.

It sounds like everyone had a good Christmas, me included. It was nice to see family again, and presents are akways fun. Here are some things that I got:

Our Mutual Friend on DVD
Gilmore Girls: the Complete Sixth Season on DVD
Pride & Prejudice Piano Music
The Audrey Hepburn Treasures
Fairest by Gail Carson Levine
Teen Knitting Club
Audio Adrenaline - "Adios: Greatest Hits" CD
Nickel Creek - "Reasons Why (The Very Best)" CD
Audrey Hepburn 2007 Calendar

I also got lots of chocolates, bath stuff, and a little Audrey Hepburn magnet my mom found at a craft show! I've had fun with everything - I'm almost finished watching "Our Mutual Friend" (which would explain my rekindled infatuation with John & Bella. I love that we get to see them after they are married, too, which doesn't usually happen.) I love my Nickel Creek CD (with a DVD of all their music videos). And I'm learning to knit! I mede a couple lttle practice patches, and today I bought the prettiest purple yarn to start my first full project - a scarf. My grandma is thrilled that I want to knit, lol. She's always knitting me scarves and socks - I love warm knitted socks. I also want to make hats and sweaters... It's a very cool book. :D "The Audrey Hepburn Treasures" is wonderful, too.

Honestly, I want to start squeeing over the last Robin Hood episode and the lovliness that is "Our Mutual Friend," but I won't.

I don't have big plans for tonight (New Year's Eve) - just babysitting and then knitting and watching movies/TV (after th kids have gone to bed, that is). I'm looking forward to it. Also, by the time my Christmas vacation is over, I'm sure I'll be ready to see all the kids at the daycare again, too. (Though I'll see a couple of them tonight!)

There's also a camp staff retreat for a couple of days, which will be lots of fun! I can't wait to see everyone again. Except I really need to finish my application for the summer, yikes. That and my application for the school in England.

Speaking of England, my grandparents told me that they're paying for my flight there and back! It's amazing! So I'm thinking that's got to be a sign that I really should go, right? Though I've been sort of freaking out at the reality of flying over and being completely by myself for six months. Well, the whole flying over and settling into a massive change and being completely independent. I can barely do anything by myself here, I'm so shy. :/ But I really believe this is the push that I need to get out on my own and make good friends ... (Plus, there is the fact that I will probably have access to the BBC and Robin Hood and all my favourite things, lol. That's a huge pro.)

Wow, I have said a lot. It looks like this year will bring about a lot of changes for me.
