I went to see "Jane Eyre" this week! Apparently it's only in limited release at the moment, but fortunate for me, I am close to one of the few theatres it is at. Even more fortunate is that my boyfriend willingly went with me, and even more exciting - there was a mini exhibit at the theatre featuring costumes from the film. I had no idea this was

Mia's appereance seem to me very similar to real Jane Eyere, or at least to my idea of it.. But as it seem to me, she was unsuccessful in showing Jane's inner strenght and personality.
I was charmed with Mrs Fairfax-Judy Dench, she is the best Mrs Fairfax I have seen. Her appereance in the final scene, is the best thing about final, although that scene was missing in the book.
I felt luck of chemistry between Mr. Rochester and Jane. I understand that it is diffucult to notice any chemistry after passionate relationship we saw
in 2006 series.. Or maybe the problem was that they didnt get enough time to include all important scenes with Jane and Rochester - but as a result their love story seems too abrupt in this movie. Yes, I know why Jane fell in love with Rochester, and vice versa, but I know it mostly from reading the book or wathcing previous movies.
The good thing about this movie was cinematography - Thornfield has never looked so interesting, the gothic atmoshere was also impressing. Did you notice that they filmed it in the same house where 2006 series were filmed? But house lookes so much better in this movie.
I loved Adele. At the same time I didnt like Jane as a child - she was too serious, too angry, too unpleasant, not that kind child in the book who was forced to protect herself somehow for the reason that circumstances were just unfavourable. I cant help but remember wonderful young Jane in 2006 series)
So, the main conclusion was that my favourite adaptations of Jane Eyre remain the same: 2006 series with Toby Stephens, and 1983 with Timity Dalton.

Yeah, this young Jane was not so pleasant, but it's hard to beat Georgie Henley (from the 2006 version).
I agree - the 2006 miniseries is still my favourite too. (I haven't actually seen the Timothy Dalton version, but I think I should!)
