So... the year of stupidity continues.
Somehow I managed to fall down the stairs last night (and no, that isn't a metaphor for "my boyfriend's beating me" - I really fell down the stairs), and I scraped up my elbows really good... to the point where I at least have a bone bruise on my left one, which is also aggravating my left wrist which always seems to get hurt. I also skinned my right elbow a little, and my back a little less.
Between that and working an 8 hour shift today and having to walk around the mall/area to kill time before work for 5 1/2 hours.
I'm surprisingly in a halloween mood, considering I've been working in a Halloween store for a month and a half... but I'm really looking forward to watching some "horror" movies. I've already watched Garfield Halloween once. I'm very disappointed though - NOBODY carries Ernest Scared Stupid ANYWHERE in store! I'd have to order it online... which sucks. Also - The Frighteners is really expensive (or maybe it's just Borders) it was $27! Has anybody ever seen Rosemary's Baby? Is it any good?
Any recommendations for me? I've been told to watch Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street. Here are some rules for the game:
- No facial deformities - I'm pretty sure all of you have heard about No-Face, if not seen him in person. Also, if there's a cyclops... count it out.
- No obscene amounts of gore.
- Psychological thrillers posing as horror make for an okay submission.
- Let's keep burn victims/people on fire to a dull roar (I've been told that there isn't much in NoES, and I've worked around Freddy Kreuger masks for 6 weeks.
- Multiple submissions are love!
Movies I've seen
- The Exorcist
- The Frighteners
- Psycho (original B&W)
- The Birds
- Hellraiser (part of... the very end)
- Final Destination (all three)
- It
- Corpse Bride (I know, it's not scary...)
- Phantom of the Opera (original 1920's silent.)
- ... I'm sure I'm missing some.
Movies I consider to have facial deformities - so don't include them!
- The Goonies
- Mask (not The Mask, with Jim Carrey... my dad makes that mistake quite often.)
- The Hills Have Eyes (I won't even bother with it...)
- Jenifer (if you don't know anything about it, IMDB it and just look at the dvd cover - it seems like a really fucked up story anyways.)
- Purple People Eater (were not making that mistake again...)
Also keep in mind, I'm very intrigued by "freaks", but as long as they're not really creepy/gross. No real-life wolf-men. I watch lots of DHC specials about oddities.
