Dreams can give us important messages. The other night, somebody in my dream said "You might as well show a kitten how to make tea".
Wise words indeed.

That depends on how good you are at making tea and whether you're doing the demonstration for the benefit of the kitten or yourself. When you've got stuck working out something, it can often help to go through it slowly, stage by stage, with someone else - and that other person doesn't necessarily have to be capable of any sensible input to the process. Merely being an external audience is enough.

Haha. I interpreted the aphorism as meaning that you can show a kitten anything but it won't necessarily learn.

That's how I understood it too, but this was rapidly eclipsed by the thought "I want a kitten to make me tea too!".
