DAY 039

Jul 12, 2010 22:34

There is nothing more heartbreaking than waking up in the morning to news of this caliber. Yet, this journal is not about sorrow, it as about memory and I have plenty of them to share for a lifetime when it comes to my departed friend. In lieu of that, I will continued to strive forward, one foot at a time, and make more memories so that I may share these with you, my readers who I appreciate being supportive throughout this entire trip which is rapidly coming to a close.

So with that, this journal returns to what it should be used for;

Today marked my official return to Sweden, and by that I mean I did not spend the majority of the day suffering away on a train until fifteen minutes till July 9th. I call this successful after the day that I experienced yesterday in which I added up the delightful maths and you’re looking at around 28 hours in transit. Needless to say, I didn’t care much what I did today as long as it did not involve a train, at all. Nada to zilch.

Instead, I spent the day in Anne’s company when she was not zipping around taking part in one of her so many projects. Also! I was said I could come and work for her out here, so graduate school, if you don’t work out, I’m still getting out here eventually to make the monies. She took me around town, drove me everywhere which as oh-so rare for me. I felt like mother-fucking royalty rolling around, getting shuttled place to place, not to mention, she made me breakfast, treated me and her wonderful friends to lunch and great company and then later in the evening, her son cooked everyone dinner and then she made me sandwiches for the train.

I have not eaten so well in a very, very long time.

I also went to the “zoo” and I say “zoo” because it was more like an epic nature reserve instead of a certain zoo I know of that has a polar bear which should not be living in the desert and acts more like a machine than an animal. Here, you had to sit and wait for the animals to come to you if they were not lounging around and that was well worth it as I heard the wolves howl and saw a moose.

If seeing a moose does not brighten your day, a moose in Sweden mind you, I don’t know what would.
