I tried to build and run JNode in Sun's Virtual Box on the following two desktops:
CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2500+ (1.8GHz) AMD Sempron 140 (2.7GHz, 64bit)
RAM: 1 GB DDR 2 GB DDRII
Video: GeForce 6200 GeForce 6150SE
OS: CentOS 5 Windows XP 64bit
Well, it runs rather slow in both cases. I've read that others reported the same problem with VBox, so I'll try to test it in VMWare later. I could not launch desktop ui with 'startawt' command; after a bit searching, I found that this problem persists for nvidia gpus. Anyway, it should not prevent me from development at the moment.
I am spending more time on the presentational part right now, but it has nothing to show for audience at the moment.
