It is shaping up to be quite the fantastic summer already. The most hilarious thing is the number of random outdoorsy/hiking excursions my friends and I have been on without planning it. It started with a picnic at a state park near me I've never been to, Sprewell Bluff on the Flint River. It's actually really beautiful! We went there twice, each spontaneously going on a different "nature trail" that end up way longer and harder than we thought and almost killing us. But it was fun.
On Friday, Kenni, David and I went to Macon to go to this delightful Indian restaurant, and ended up going to Ocmuglee National Monument with some old Native American burial mounds. Disregarding the creepiness of that, there was also a really long trail we foolishly decided to trek in 4823753 degree weather wearing normal clothes.
I'd thought I'd share some photos of our adventures!
Sprewell Bluff
I look like such a tourist.
Ocmulgee
It was bigger than it looks.
David and I were very excited.
There was a HIGHWAY in the middle of the trail.
It was probably irreverent to dance on top of the mound...
Also, I saw this in the Indo-Pakistani grocery store and thought it was funny.
