I was talking with an old high school friend, she's the poetry editor for a magazine, she asked me to write some more. You know me, I usually just need a kick in the pants to get creative. Blame her for this.
The Priorities of Art
The richness of creation,
From dreams brought into being
With words of inspiration;
And girls dig poetry.
From quarrel to agreeing,
The poet is persuader
With verse diplomacy-ing;
And girls dig poetry.
To private minds we cater,
While public minds we fashion
With Zeitgeist as our métier;
And girls dig poetry.
But our consuming passion,
Reward befitting station
Is how we really cash in;
Because girls dig poetry.
