I'm still amused at the oddball interests that drive me to research the most unanticipated things.
Several of my friends are amateur to semi-professional artists, so I've learned how to critique art technique constructively. Now my friends are getting into the range where I should understand anatomy to figure out how to help improve their skill when they can't figure out what's wrong. Anatomy, that I can pick up and explain pretty well, even if I can't draw a stick figure myself.
... So now a couple of my artist friends are Bronies such as myself, and wanted to draw ponies, but couldn't figure out where they went wrong. Cue Carl the autodidact to the rescue, looking up a crash course on HORSE ANATOMY so I can explain how even cartoonish ponies don't need big foreleg thighs, the back legs do most of the work.
Yaaay, Google, yaaaaay internet, yaaaaaay Wikipedia. You teach me the most random shit just because I find myself needing to teach it to other people.
Incidentally, my birthday arrives this coming Sunday. Those living in North America will notice this coincides with Daylight Savings Time skipping an hour ahead at 2 AM.
I lose an hour of birthday.
FIE! FIE UPON YOU, TIME-EATING GOAT-BOTHERERS!

Apropos of nothing, here's the cool loop-pedal one-man-band cover of Nirvana's "Lithium" that's been stuck in my head tonight.)
