Some anime reviews...

Well, I've been meaning to do this for a bit, but since the second part of the spring shows are starting here's a review of some of the newer stuff I've watched, and perhaps some stuff you should go back and catch. ;)

Now I'm not doing spoiler-rific reviews, I tend to go for jotting down the ones I like and some impressions. I would highle reccomend looking at a series summary on Wikipedia or such to get a good overview, then try watching it if you like it. :) I'll also suggest a subber that I like too if there is one.
Ok, starting with things that just started, there is one that I don't really need to review, but anyways:
Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood - Ok sticking closer to the manga storyline? Kick ass. Of course we have to wait a bit to get to the point where we can really see it's following the manga though :P I'm going with Eclipse, though I do tend to like Shinsen's stuff.

Now two that I am thinking are some of the best that just started:
Eden of the East - I love the art, the opening song is Oasis - Falling Down, and the main male character is introduced by him waking up with no memories naked holding a .32 revolver and a cellphone. Oh yeah, the kicker? He's across the street from the White House. Now that's an intro. :P So far funny and interesting, it's definitely looking like a big storyline is being introduced. I'll suggest Desire subs for this one.
K-On - Three girls try to keep the light music club going but need a fourth member to keep the club active, and the only person that wants to join is an airhead who mainly wants to stay for snacks. Reminds me a lot of Azumanga Daioh humor. Yes I am watching it because it's silly and cute. :P Coalguys versions are win.

Others from this season:
Basquash! - World where basketball has been taken over by "Bigfoots" basically cars with huge legs and arms on them. Yeah it's very weird premise, but give the first episode a watch. Great animation, backgrounds especially. I've seen people saying they're even more awesome than Tekkonikreet's and honestly I'd have to agree, it's that nifty looking. Humour is pretty good and there's a decent plot. Anime Media or Umai, your choice. :)
Shangri-la - Range Murata chatacter designs what? Yeah that means I'm pointing that out to all my Last Exile folks. Parts of the world have been turned into jungle because the world was poisoning itself to death with emissions (hey that sounds familiar), and emissions are now heavily taxed. Japan is essentially one large jungle now but there are free cities set up where people live out of the jungle. That's just my impressions, really for a more accurate summary look it up in wiki or such, I'm finding that one hard to describe, but good. I'm going with Desire again, but there's aquite a few doing this.

I've been watching a few others too, but those are the best ones I've seen so far the others just haven't caught me yet. :)

Older:
Toradora - A+++++ Must see. Seriously. Romantic comedy where two people who can't talk to their crush try to help each other out. Failboating happens... A lot. Coalguys
Maria + Holic - It's one messed up piece of funny. :D gg subbed most of this, last ep is subbed by someone using gg's stuff.
Michiko to Hatchin - Awesome action, quite a bit of comedy, and I loved the ending too. Great artwork, heard from Tess that people from Cowboy Bebop/Samurai Champloo were involved which makes sense. BSS
Rideback - A+++++ Again. Daughter of a famous ballerina is trying to follow in her mother's dance steps until she hurts her ankle badly during a performance. Focuses on college intending on doing theater instead and finds Ridebacks instead, basically a motorcycle that can "stand" on it's wheels and suspension and had arms. I know sounds goofy, but they look pretty darn cool. Political change on a global scale as a backdrop. Might have to go for a mix on this, Desire did the end.
Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo - Cute funny, and ongoing. The main brain colony in the story Leopard is voiced by the guy who did Lelouch and I fricking love his voice, and just thinking of Lelouch saying some of the things that Leopard does cracks me up. Highly recommended. Strike Subs does a good version, but they've fallen behind a bit, as far as I know are still releasing.
Cobra the Psychogun - Because I love my sci-fi cheese. It looks like something out of the 70's-80's... And god I love it for that.

There's more of course, but that's the stuff I liked the most and thought others would too. :) If anyone is interested in recent stuff and wants to check and see what I think I can give a better description over IM or such.
