Rating: PG-13 Pairing: John/Paul Disclaimer: Fake fake fake. Summary: “I guess I just wanna see if even a Beatle could be subject to a mouthful of concrete.”
Awww... so good and so sweet. Oh but god, John's feelings of claustrophobia and emptiness and despair... that was so well done. I'm sure he did feel some of that. If he hadn't had Paul to hold on to during those years, I don't know what might have happened. Maybe he would have stepped off the roof. I think, yeah, Paul did remind John that he was human and a person and that someone appreciated that fact, appreciated HIM for something other than being a Beatle. I think that was incredibly important.
It's why I think Paul and Ringo are so important to one another now. They need someone to hold onto who KNOWS, every now and then. We all do.
Ahh, that's so true, what you said about Paul and Ringo. And yeah, I feel as though John and Paul may have just needed each other for reality's sake sometimes.
I liked this, I like the atmospheric sense of claustrophobia and isolation you managed to create here. And I love the little touches, how John is feeling trapped by Beatlemania, and Paul is reading a magazine with the image of their faces on the cover...and lol, Paul taking the "Which Beatle are you" quiz! Love the little details like that! And how Paul is the voice of reason to John's manic episodes.

The way you delve into John's head - it's mind-blowing.
I loved the John/Paul interaction in this the most.
