BEWARE: Rant about my laptop ahead.
so i need to vent about my Laptop real quick
they gave us these dell laptops at the beginning of the school year last year
for our trench run through Guildhall
they're these XPS machines
anyway... throughout the year i hear all these students having these problems where it won't go to sleep, hibernate, etc
like, something all laptops should do when you close the lid, right?
i would do this quite often -- shut my laptop and let it hibernate
then I'd unplug my stuff, throw it in my backpack and off I go!
so later on, my computer stopped recognizing my AC Adapter
it started thinking the ac adapter (which was the one that i had been using from the very beginning) was a non-compatible one
and the power directly affects the speed/power of my laptop. So all my apps that I use to do work start running slow as shit and crappy.
I switched out AC Adapters, and it stopped for about a week, and then it kept doing it again
so because of that, the battery stopped charging... so no more hibernate.
seems the motherboard is shot
bad mobo, cheap crappy parts. expensive dell bullshit.
ANYWAY, luckily we have a really awesome tech support guy at school
his name is Du, and he's got a black and tan dachshund that Katie takes care of at work sometimes
he gave me a "loaner"
it's the upgrade that cohort 11 got - it's similar, but newer.
the LCD panel is like a MILLION times better than mine
the color is so bad on my old laptop sometimes that drastic changes will happen when i go from my computer to my desktop
the most recent example is in my new Killer7 desktop wallpaper i made
their glows, which looked red on my laptop look orange, almost to the point of being yellow, everywhere else
so it kinda angers me that, being an artist and all, the results of my art are DRASTICALLY changing from what i expect them to be when they are viewed on another computer!
