Corpse Bride

Yesterday afternoon, while downtown, I went and saw ‘Corpse Bride’, at the Meridian cinema. The film was playing closer to my house at the Neptune Theatre, but I couldn’t allow myself to see this movie on a smaller screen. Indy flicks, dramas, romantic comedies are great on a small screen. The actors closer to actual size lets an intimacy between the screen and the audience develop. Hollywood blockbusters full of explosions or movies with many special effects need a larger screen to make the action come alive, so the audience can live more vicariously through the plot.

I enjoyed the film and would like to see it again. It is comparable to ‘A Nightmare Before Christmas’. The only part I questioned originally was the ending, but after some thought about artistic quality and plot I am left satisfied.
