Update
So i have been getting daily emails from my Mom about my Nanny's progress at the hospital, and its been quite the emotional roller coaster over there. A week ago, they discovered a severe infection in the bowel where they made their incision. They tired several non-invasive methods of rectifying the infection to no avail. It has now been 2 more surgeries for a total of three. She is doing surprisingly well considering everything that has been going on. I think that having her family around her and having lots of support has really made the recovery process alot easier and faster for her.
Anyways, the infection had eaten right through the stitches and staples holding the bowel together. Its good thing that they found the problem when they did or she would have gotten alot sicker. I'm not going to say it, but think about what would happen if you had a hole in your intestine.
Anyways, the doctor says that the third surgery, which took place last night (friday the 5th), went well.
We are praying that this will be the end of the surgeries and the start of the path of recovery. She should have been out of the hospital about a week and half ago, but I am happy with everything that the hospital staff is doing. They have been really great through this and have made my Nanny comfortable during her stay.
