doubts
Hey all,
it's midnight in the small village of charagua in the middle of the bolivian rainforest and i'm starting to doubt the whole idea of ngos and if there's any way at all to support developing countries or indigenous peoples without being neocolonial which is what i'm feeling right now... tomorrow i'm going to the even smaller village of isiporenda to stay for three weeks and try to find out what kind of work i might possibly do in the next eight months that they actually need me to do an that could actually improve something for them. right now i doubt it and i doubt the whole stinking world but the flowers smell nice and the people are smiling so maybe it will be all right after all.
