--This incredible boredom is also incredibly resilient. For the past month or so I haven't been able to find anything to keep occupied for any length of time. Nothing fun, that is; work/chores don't count. I lack the ability to concentrate on anything. Blah. I still can't get the hang of this PC tablet, either. It's just not paper, yo! The pen just slips in an unnatural way that is disturbing.

--Strawberry muffins are an affront to their muffin heritage. Strawberries just aren't tangy enough to counteract the sweetness. You fail, Pillsbury.

--Shocked!Otter is tired of representing me and demands retirement, claiming his face will be stuck like that. Other icons have followed suit and I want to let them go but I have no skills to make new/better ones. Tough luck, guys.

--I have found NO good scripts to read lately. I haven't read a good once since Moneyball or Castlevania a couple weeks ago. Subsequently, I've gone back to reread some older books and you know what? Palahniuk is still overrated. There's just something about his style that gives me a migraine. The text in his books must have subliminal images of people getting hit with hammers or something 'cause I can't go more than 10 minutes before wanting to pop a pill.

--They're removing the top of a nearby hill to provide clearance for the airport, blessing me with a daily soundtrack of dozers and graders. Apparently the one horse residing in Indiana is lonely and the airport needs to expand so larger planes can fly in some horsey friends. Seriously, it's a tiny town that revolves around a university and a Walmart, this needs to be done why? It's a waste of money. More importantly, I can't sleep in.

--I feel more and more pffty about the upcoming finale run of the comics. I have some ideas about how it will all go and tomorrow I might make my guesses final in a post (I like to guess finales like some people guess sport playoffs), but I feel no exuberance about them. I don't think they count so that plays into it, but even with fanfic I feel want to read it. With this, it feels more like waiting to see an artist's portrait of you after they've made a bunch of sour faces when drawing. Maybe you want to see it, but you probably don't. I think it's just Joss has been a pretty steady let-down since 2003 to me and, well, nothing in those books gives me hopes this will be a change in pattern.

One upside is that it's nice and cool this week with no sunshine. Yes, niiiiice and dreary.
