I saw Going Postal and liked it not at all. Call me a traitor to Pratchett fandom, but nothing in the film did me any favors except Vetinari's diction (and he was ginger, wat??).
I didn't expect to be overwhelmed, seeing I found Moist and Adora irritating in the book and only really remembered the "deliver us" scene, but augh, Ridcully is supposed to be a hearty, beefy slab of a wizard who knocks people over with his voice (he's much better in Hogfather, but then the Dean is frail and thin??), and most of the Ankh-Morpork scenes were full of conspicuous extras puttering conspicuously around, and the direction/choice of camera angles was odd, and Death never made an appearance at all, which is NOT RIGHT, and was the reporter supposed to be Sacharissa? Probably, because Otto was there too, but. And lot of the side actors were behaving like self-conscious extras in a high school play. And the special effects were very, very iffy. So no, not impressed, and probably won't be for the foreseeable future.
