More on DW is coming later -- suffice it to say that I liked this week and see a lot of potential for the cliffhanger if the writer can do the first half justice. And this post's been half written since two weeks ago. So.
Welp, NCIS and NCIS:LA are over for the season. It wasn't Franks's eyeball after all, but he died, which is worse. And once again I felt like kicking Gibbs for resenting Barrett because... what? She's a rookie? She's a woman? Since when has he had such a complete lack of respect for a fellow agent who wasn't a tool or outright incompetent? Maybe it should have been his case, but everybody including Gibbs knows that that was Vance's fault, not Barrett's, and it's not like Gibbs to take these things out on people who are honestly just trying to do their jobs and aren't actually a danger to everyone around them. (However, what was with that thing she removed from her agent's arm right there on Ducky's autopsy table where he was sure to figure out that someone had sliced the guy's wrist open postmortem. >____>) And as for NCIS:LA, egad. Hetty had BETTER NOT be on her way out of the series, because she's 1/3 of the reason I love that show so much (the other 2/3 are Sam and Nell).
Only LA had a real cliffhanger -- curious about the mothership, yeah, but G's childhood and his and Hetty's family connections (to say nothing of the situation they're all in) is just a bit scarier right now.

this glorious lot of enormous TRON:1982 screencaps. BRB, REMAKING ALL MY RAM ICONS. :D
Another thing I didn't get around to mentioning before: checked an item off my personal goal list by going to hear Leonard Nimoy speak in person this week last week a while ago. *flailsquees forever*
Observations went mainly along the lines of THAT VOICE, THAT SMILE; he told the neck-pinch story and the Vulcan salute story and the fan-mail-office-supplies story and a few others I'd seen in his books, spoke about his childhood in Boston, his early career (Zombies of the Stratosphere! \o/), a quote that inspired him (Shakespeare: "act well your part; there all the honor lies,"), and a lot of other stuff. He said 'fascinating' by accident (apparently) and laughed as the whole room cracked up. He said Gene Roddenberry called him 'the conscience of Star Trek'. He said JFK told him -- while still a senator, when Nimoy was driving a cab between acting gigs, the one time they ever met -- that "there's always room for one more good one." He quoted one of his poems -- I have worn more masks than I remember; I have been a face without a name. And he said we are all involved in a creative process, no matter what we do. It was all memorable, but I think I'll remember his smile longest of all.
I don't even feel like going on about that Kurt Vonnegut twitterfeed and how 'capacity' got my back RIGHT UP but there's nothing that can reasonably be done about it except dl;dr. (Just. Capacity. *fumes*) Or about how I don't need to see Thor because I already know I'd be sympathizing with Loki, throwing things at Odin, and rolling my eyes for the rest of it and not just because non-Loki Hiddleston looks suspiciously like Dan Shor. Or about the (semi-confirmed?) Hobbit casting spoilers WHICH IF TRUE (AND IF THEY STAY TRUE) WOULD FILL ME WITH SUCH GLEE YOU HAVE NO IDEA. Or how Blitzen Trapper is rocking my socks right now (and letting me work, since I can't work when the Legacy soundtrack is on because it's too epic). And I don't have time for another
Drabbles in SPAAAACE!!! meme, as much fun as it'd be. (But
curuchamion wrote one of her own,
combining UNIT and the X-Men, so yay!) And my bookcase collapsed last night and there is stuff ALL OVER and it needs some kind of bracing to stop it from doing that again and ohman. And I keep adding things onto this, but it's time to just go and post it already and make way for other content. So here it is.
