Stuff!
--Dreamwidth backup finally completed yesterday. (
Current import and crossposting status; see
dw_maintenance for previous updates and other questions and information about imports.) It looks like the DDoS attacks have died down for now, but with Livejournal under attack for being a free-speech resource in Russia, it's good to have a backup. (Darnit, politics. When will you learn that you can't stop the signal?)
--No Doctor Who premier for me, but it looks like Leonard Nimoy might be in my neck of the nonwoods soon. Cue flail. The notice didn't even say what he was talking about, but I am so going.
--There's been a slew of Tron comms popping up recently. Some --
tron_genfic,
tron_bromance,
women_of_tron -- I've joined, though they're moving very slowly for lack of material (as in traditional publishing, romantic fanfiction outposts other genres). Which, kfine, to each their own, but I like my gen.~ Of those three,
women_of_tron will probably have the roughest time; there are very few female characters in the franchise, much less female characters in situations that pass the Bechedel test. (Is there even one scene like that in the whole extended canon? Doubtful.) But all the more reason to showcase them a bit.
--I have completely fallen down on knowing what's going on with the space program. Apparently Atlantis's summer flight is going to be the last shuttle mission, rather than Discovery's recent one, and Endeavor's going up soon for her last flight as well. (After that the ISS will depend on
Soyuz for its transportation needs. *brb telling brain this is not the place for a tasteless DDoS joke*)

Tetravon Accelerator may have found a new particle -- a heretofore unsuspected one, and, if it exists, an even more exciting find than the still-elusive Higgs bosun: "We'd essentially be saying there's a new force of nature being communicated by the particle. We know that there's four forces: electromagnetism, gravity, and the strong and weak nuclear forces. This would be the fifth; every freshman physics class would have to change their textbooks." Egad.

Jello that looks like broken stained glass. Cooking leaves me cold, but crafting food like this? Eeeeee.
