(no subject)
Stuff from last week:
--My dreamscape is weird lately, but there was a good one where the Ninth Doctor starred in a PSA about how to answer prank phone calls with bad jokes. I laughed myself awake. The jokes were terribly unfunny, too -- the only one I remember had a punchline that only worked if you were a girl whose name wasn't Amanda -- but Nine can crack horrible puns in my head any time. ^____^
--Someday I am gonna run through all seven-and-a-bit seasons of NCIS and screencap all the times Abby hugs Gibbs. Because AWWWWWWWW.
--In honor of that meme that's been going around, I changed all my LJ icons to ones featuring girl characters. Not gonna run through the list but they're there anyway.
--Library haul: a Diana Wynn Jones book I hadn't read, a Terry Pratchett book I hadn't read (not Discworld, but still), a Patricia A. McKillip book I hadn't read (SCORE!!), and a Usagi Yojimbo volume I hadn't read which has a chapter about Inazuma and Jei. EEEEEEEEE. The McKillip book was The Changeling Sea and it may have become my second favorite story by her after the Riddlemaster trilogy; I cannot stress enough how much I love the way she strings words together.
Stuff from this week (so far):
--Did I mention that Usagi Yojimbo has all these amazing women in it? This volume alone has Kitsune, Inazuma (and Keiko), and the brilliant Ame Tomoe.
--Rats, I wanted to put together an Inazuma!Jei costume but her hakama is white and I like my black one better. Now, do I have my white hakama (and does it still fit) or did I leave it back at Dad's place....
*edit* ..ah, there it is. Needs epic ironing, though. Man, I miss martial arts. Did I ever mention the hakama is the most comfortable garment ever, once one gets past the proper technique for tying the knots?
