Not sure if anyone's ever remarked on this before (I've just been introduced to RD so forgive me if some of you caught these references back when they first appeared!), but this just dawned on me the other week (thank you again, slwatson, commanderteddog, and kalijean), and here it is for posterity: textual proof in Doctor Who that Steven Moffat's favorite Red Dwarf episode is Dimension Jump.

It starts out as a regular episode, but one line of Holly's made me sit up and go "oooh":

Holly: "Purple Alert... (which is) not quite as bad as a Red Alert, but slightly worse than a Blue Alert. Kind of like a mauve alert -- don't want to say 'mauve alert.....'"
Mauve alert! First mentioned in The Empty Child -- a Steven Moffat episode -- as the universal color of danger (red is only used by humans~); the TARDIS follows a mysterious spaceship because "it's mauve and dangerous".

A few minutes later:

Holly: "There's this big wibbly-wobbly swirly thing that's headed straight towards us."
WIBBLY-WOBBLY. Together with "timey-wimey", a favorite bit of pseudo-technobabble first (I think) used in Steven Moffat's Doctor-lite episode Blink, and quickly adopted as a prime Tenth Doctor catchphrase; also used in The Eleventh Hour, which was, you guessed it, written by Steven Moffat.

Shortly thereafter, as the Starbug's about to crash, the Red Dwarf crew start reciting boring trivia to calm themselves:

Rimmer: "Since the beginning of the thirteenth century, Belgium has been the home of some of the most remarkable weavings in Northwest Europe...."
Hmmm. According to the Doctor Who wiki, Belgium is mentioned in gets mentioned in Mark Gatiss's The Idiot's Lantern and Gareth Robert's The Unicorn and the Wasp, but it was the Moff who first brought it into the series in Time Crash.

Peripherally related screencap from Terraform. Oh hey.

So. "Mauve alert", "wibbly-wobbly", and "Belgium" aren't particularly noteworthy terms by themselves, but all three in the first third of a single episode -- I'd call it conclusive, how about you?

Also, Ace Rimmer = Captain Jack without the angst. Just sayin'.~
