Meant to post this yesterday, too: Small Creatures, the fic that SOMEONE wrote for me over on tardis_gen. It has the Ninth Doctor! And the Brigadier! And SILLY MONSTERS! Go see! *flails~*
In HP news, there's a new HBP trailer over at Leaky!!!!! So far, this looks to be another oh-gosh-see-our-massive-sets movie. Main impressions:
So many bridges.
Neat blocky-crystal minerals in the cave. Wouldn't like to lose my balance in there.
Dumbledore: "This time I cannot hope to destroy it alone." THAN TAKE MCGONAGALL. Couldn't she bypass the boat trap by turning into a cat? Dumbledore and McGonagall on Horcrux Island... I'd so read that.
What was that blurry thing Malfoy was holding up? Speaking of which, is anyone else unimpressed with Tom Felton, or is it just me? He should have more gravitas by now.
Slughorn is too svelte. The Katie Bell scene looks scary. All the Inferi look like Gollum.
WEASLEYS. Wait, is that the Burrow being destroyed? I don't remember that from the book.....
Was that Madame Bones!?? *plzplzplz*
It is, of course, impossible now to even pretend Snape is still the bad guy, which is probably why he's all tragic-faced instead of spitting SNARLS OF CAPSLOCK as he did in the book. But that one bit where he blocks Harry's spell with the merest flick of his wand was rather awesome.
In conclusion: yay!
I think I'm going to largely stay out of the new!ST hype. Years ahead, we'll all look back on it with fondness (hopefully), but Trek is my first active fandom and the controversy hits me in a tender spot.
Besides, I've a Property outline to write. Later, y'all.
