Hi there!

*relurks*

i.e. pwnd by RL at the moment, in the person of temp jobs, visitors, and paperwork, and have very little of a fannish nature to say at the moment -- only a series of random HP issues that have been drifting around in my mind since Book 7 came out.

*Never even minding our heroes' frequent use of Crucio and Imperio, the Trio was using Muffliato all over the place, and Hermione even used Levicorpus in Gringotts. What happened to "oh no, that's a Prince spell"?

*Eloise Midgeon's nose was reattached after being cursed off, and Snape healed Malfoy in HBP -- that doesn't mean anything in canon about George's ear, but it's a good platform for analyzing the mechanics of spell construction.

*Speaking of which, I can see George walking around with the most obnoxiously garish fake ear EVER.

*What happened to Muggle England during Voldemort's reign? (Must read the book again.)

*Why'd all the good teachers get to stay at Hogwarts? Were they ALL pure-bloods? What about Flitwick's dash of goblin ancestry and Hagrid's giant blood?

*Did Fudge survive?

*All that wand stuff is interesting but dodgy. Everyone disarmed Snape in Prisoner of Azkaban.

*Why, after Harry's big speech in 12 Grimmauld Place, were BOTH Remus and Tonks at Hogwarts!?

*Fudge's Ministry had lousy security; Voldemort's had great security. Why are the bad guys always more efficient?

*A lot of the doomed characters who died started out with a certain brash confidence -- Snape, Dumbledore, James, Sirius, and especially Voldemort had times when they fancied themselves masters of their environment. In fact, I am seeing a very clear congruence between Snape's original ambitious nature and Dumbledore's great mistake. Both were willing to overlook evil in associates for the sake of attaining very personal goals -- Snape sought power and Lily Evans, while Dumbledore sought world order and greatness -- and I'm seeing this as the reason why Dumbledore was so stern with Snape.

*Bwahahaha.

*Note for future fics: Snape never called Dumbledore by his first name (though I think McGonagall did once or twice?), but Lily did call Snape "Sev". Good grief.
