Memes of the Day

Jul 11, 2007 22:15

Haven't had such a grueling karate class since... well, black belt testing, but that doesn't count because it was only two weeks ago. Drills, drills, drills, and then sparring, which I lost. *Gai voice* But I will do better next time!!!!!

More on the Harry Potter movie tomorrow, but for now, here are a couple of memes.

Via xmisaamanex, the Interview Meme:

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I respond by asking you five questions to get to know you better!
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. Include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, ask them five questions.

1. How long have you been online?
*thinks* A little over two years now, all on lj. I'd haunted fic sites and fan sites for years before that, but lj was the first time I interacted with any online fan communities.

2. Besides "Naruto" and "Hellsing", what other anime/manga are you into? (If any)
No other manga at the moment -- Naruto was the first one I ever really read, and you clued me in to Hellsing. A lot of others look interesting, but I'd have to go in to B&N and spend a day reading them to decide. As for anime, there's something awfully endearing about Sherlock Hound.

3. What are two of your favorite movies and why do you like them?
Difficult... very difficult. At the moment, there are few movies that I would simply go back to for non-fandom reasons. One is The Black Stallion, which I've loved since I was a kid -- a simple story of a boy and his horse, with panoramic settings and soaring music. Another great one is The Hunt for Red October, whose fine acting and staggering atmospheric intensity make for a gripping film.

4. If the option became avaliable to have upgrades like those seen in "Ghost in the Shell"/cyberpunk novels, would you upgrade? If you would, what would you have done?
I'd certainly think about it! Some kind of photographic-memory chip would be my first choice.

5. Do you ever get songs stuck in your head, and what do you do when that happens?
Oh, do I. *grins* The most recent one was Mr. Mistoffeles from Cats. I have three basic ways of handling a persistent earworm: let it fade into the background; start singing it and drive everyone nuts; or knock it out by thinking of another catchy song that I mind less.

And also, from ragdoll (though quite late), the Hug Meme.

Hugs are good. Let's spread a little love and comfort to one another. If you've been having a bad day/week/year and need a hug, or if you just want one, comment here and I'll give you a virtual hug. Then if you like, post this in your journal to share with your own friends-list.

Feel free to tag either, neither, or both!
