I quite like Dresden Files despite the clichéd female characters. Bob is also much better in the series than he is in the books. (If you read the books, the fourth was the best so far.) I really like episode 8(?) of the series (the one in which they're trapped in the house). Good stuff.

Well, I'm only on the second episode, so for me, the series consists so far of *grins at shiny magic* and *grumbles at dodgy police procedure* and "Yay, Bob!!" But yes, good stuff. ^^ Never heard of the books before seeing the series -- now I may have to check them out. Episode eight, you say? I'll look forward to it!

'As for MacLean, a Glaswegian Navy-man whose mother tongue was Scots Gaelic, he wrote what I have frequently cited as my favorite stand-alone novel of all time: The Gun of Navarone, an adventure in infiltration and survival during World War II.'

...Scottish writer? WWII? Infiltration and survival?

WHY HAVE I NOT READ THIS BOOK?

And why did I write "Gun" instead of "Guns"? *headdesk of fail*

I really don't know. The Guns of Navarone. Alistair MacLean. FIND IT. READ IT. It's brilliant.
