1) I want a Doctor Who friendship ficathon, where you write about friendship and mentorship and companionship and every kind of Doctor-companion relationship OTHER than romance.
2) This is INCREDIBLE: a Photoshop speed-painting of John Locke from Lost, compressing three hours of detail work into about five minutes. Whoever this guy is, he's amazing.
3) All right, this time Naruto really has jumped the shark. The authors have moved so far from their original philosophy it's not even funny. "The young always surpass the old"? What about the Third -- this tremendously powerful OLD guy! He nearly vanquished Orochimaru from a standing start!! Don't even get me started about Shikamaru's insanely prejudiced attitude towards Kurenai, who, rather than working to help Hinata regain the self-confidence she's always on the edge of realizing, has wilted into a meek, sad widow with no purpose in the village but bearing Asuma's child. Mothers CAN be strong, you dopes!!! And Naruto has surpassed Kakashi? Since when!? What's Kakashi been doing all these years instead of improving himself? Jiraya obviously has a lot to answer for. The infamous Copy-Ninja should be a force to reckon with by now! This makes me want to write angry fic where Gai drags Kakashi off on a wilderness retreat and beats some sense into him. What's an eternal rivalry when one party gives up?
My personal Naruto canon now ends with the Rescue Gaara arc. All else is boring and irrelevent. I've found myself rooting for Sasuke lately. Heads should roll for this.
