okay, where to begin. thank you sooooooo much my dear santa <3 this fic is so lovely, and so so sweet, i don't even know where to start ;;

i remember writing my prompts and thinking i was being a bit overkill with the things i wanted in my fic, but you literally ticked all the boxes in terms of what i love in fic -- and i'm pretty sure most of those i didn't write down in my request post. for one, i absolutely adore how firmly set in reality this is? i'm all over the fact that woohyun faced an immense amount of shit for not going into active duty, and that netizens/media are causing him to trend because of it. that's so real, and it adds a really nice depth to this fic and makes it easier for me to tinhat in regards to this happening in rl b/w woogyu, heh. i also LOVE that you made him sing sappy ballads as a solo singer, because lmao that's so woohyun (baby pls change up your setlist).

the woogyu relationship here is so multi-faceted and i love it! i think there's a reason fandom portrayal of woogyu fluctuates from teeth rotting fluff to angst that tears your heart in two, and that reason is they have soooo many interesting aspects to their relationship, and you really explored those here! the fact that sungkyu would undoubtedly be jealous of the fact woohyun gets a solo career, is so real. and how sungkyu just blurted it all out in the bluntest way possible in his letter. the slight friction in their relationship is so delicious, the bickering, and the strange mix or slight resentment but genuine love and support between them. god, it's sf cute how woohyun couldn't even stay mad at him during the letter. and how sungkyu came to realise his feelings!!!! it is so perfect!! the imagery of sungkyu, being the perfectionist he is as a performer, just trying to monitor woohyun to "learn" his trade, but then becoming enamoured by his wink and smile, is just *_____*

i ADORED your sungkyu voice here. like it is literally spot on. exactly like my headcanon of him. such a grumpy little pussycat, petty, kinda douchey, but ultimately being really caring and supportive. imao sungkyu's newfound misplaced pride at his "physique" and how he literally can't stop mentioning it in his letters. and man, woohyun is SUCH boyfriend material here. really brazenly open and honest with his emotions (and his friendship with ailee is L O V E). his use of -_- in his letters IS SO APT, lmao i love these rl canon details that are in this fic. no but honestly woohyun is SO SWEET. sungkyu is too, calling him to sing a song (ia woohyun, sungkyu is dumb). but: By “found out,” I mean I traded in a year’s worth of favors and agreed to take negative pay for the event. That’s life, isn’t it? -_-. WOOHYUN IS SO FUCKING CUTE HAHA. and this is something i totally imagine he'd do in real life.

I'm soo happy to de-anon now so I can say thanks for such an amazing comment! Where do I even start? First of all I'm glad that the fic worked for you--I liked that your prompts were pretty specific but also gave a lot of room to play with the characters and setups so I found it easier to write :D I was honestly really excited to write for either prompt and I did a lot of thinking back and forth on them and eventually some research to try and make it as "canon" as possible.

I hadn't written woogyu or even read much woogyu before this fic so I was a little apprehensive about how it turned out so thank you so much for the praise :) I think I am now inspired to become a woogyu shipper too... like I needed another ship :P I do think they have so much potential especially in how their personalities cause them to conflict deliciously. I laughed whenever I put in the Woohyun -_- and I agree that he needs to expand his vocal comfort zone for solos a little haha so I'm glad you enjoyed that, I did try to make it canon + angst + pining etc since I got the sense you liked those from your prompt :) that's life, isn't it?-- is kind of the catchphrase I get from Woohyun sometimes, whereas Sunggyu seems more proactive, though I like writing them very stubborn lol.

It's funny because I already completely adored your hoyeol fic before iss even started so I was extremely excited to write for you, since hoyeol is actually my infinite otp! So when the other prompt was hoyeol I initially thought I would write that one up to the point where I actually turned in a draft of a completely different hoyeol story for my first draft O_O So if you're interested in seeing the first 500 words of a hoyeol high school au that I'm a little stuck on, well...

THIS IS KINDA IRRELEVANT, but i remember when i was checking iss for fics, there was a hoyeol fic posted and bcos our usernames are so similar i thought it was for me and then i also saw a woogyu fic for me and i was like "WOW OMG DID MY SANTA WRITE ME TWO FANFICS????" lmao. ty for requesting hoyeol for iss u___u

omg. pls hop on aboard the woogyu train. i feel honoured that this is your woogyu fic debut :') i hope it does inspire you to write more woogyu in the future. honestly thought i never would have guessed because your woogyu is pretty on point to how i imagine them?? as i said i'm usually like HMMMM about how woogyu seems to be written in fandom because they leave what i find to be the good stuff out, but honestly this was just perfect. omg, hoyeol is your otp too... we have so much in common, our usernames, our love of obscure but perfect infinite otps… we are a rare breed, but that's amazing! AND YES I WOULD LOVE TO READ YOUR 500 WORDS OF HOYEOL HIGH SCHOOL AU. i've always wanted to read an hoyeol hs au (bcos imo they're PERFECT for that kind of setting, i always talk about how hoya and sungyeol would be on completely opposite spectrums of the social scene if they were chingus in school instead of the same band, and seriously THE TROPES THAT ARE POSSIBLE), and i have one kinda written myself which i can't seem to finish. so yes, if you don't mind i'd really love to see your hoyeol hs fic :3 i might possibly badger you to finish writing it too ;P in exchange i can show you the 400 words i have of mine if you want~

Our usernames really are similar! and thank you for the continued praise :) Yeah, i don't read much woogyu in general since i also find it hard to read it if it doesn't portray them the way I want to see it... i "not-ship" it meaning i want to read them being in a relationship and it not working out in the end due to them being the people they are, as it happens sometimes. if you know of fics that fit that... i am always ready for recs and am not familiar with most woogyu fics :D

UMM, well if you also want to read 23k+ of a hoyeol high school au, i actually am writing a really long one where they are ballet dancers (and rivals). this is partially why when i saw your username and your prompts i was like o_O did they know... i couldn't imagine anything more coincidental than me being prompted to write more hoyeol high school au, and i will gladly share what i have written! i'm on tumblr and twitter as the same username if you use those and want to chat about hoyeol/woogyu/anything. rarepairs are my shipping life, the other pairing option i gave to my santa was gyujong. and i have a deep desire to read your 400 words of hoyeol, I can definitely exchange what I wrote for your prompt originally too!

have you read quarticpolynomial's stuff? particularly "the road that leads us there". that's basically all about woogyu not working, (and it tore my heart in two). there's also like a bunch of supremely angsty woogyu fic with not-so-happy endings, but those are less them breaking up because they don't work, and more them keeping on trooping despite being supremely dysfunctional ;P

HAHA THIS IS AMAZING I'M ALREADY READING THAT. or more like i remember reading it sometime last year, really liking it, but man i'm so unused to ao3, i keep forgetting to keep up with things on there. which is why I APOLOGISE FOR NOT COMMENTING, i really should have, but as i said i'm a total ao3 noob. i... do have a twitter but i completely forgot the password to it (and i signed up using a sock email) so that's no help either. but i'm under tumblr as illestfit if you wanna talk there, or if you wanna talk via email i can send you my email address!
