POND GUESS OF RIGHTEOUSNESS!

OMFG.I cannot believe they did that. I am filled, toetip to brainpan, with glee.

If everyone could please watch Flesh and Stone right now and then talk about it, that would be marvellous.

BRB, watching Confidential, then the episode again.

OMG OMG OMG.

So funny, and scarey and mysterious.

I KNOW.

I am going to write about the wonderful twistiness later, but for now I am stuck on OMFG. Both for the episode as a whole, for the fact that every bit of canon is no longer inviolate because time can be rewritten, because River is going to kill the Doctor in the finale (or think she has, BUT TIME CAN BE REWRITTEN!) and because they did the whole Eleven/Amy thing and elegantly defused it (or not).

I imagine that we're going to be able to hear the screams of the hardcore haters FROM SPACE. Awesome.

Rewatching, so many great lines:

'He's not some kind of madman?'
'...I absolutely trust him.'

Genius line, of course.

And now they're spending the whole Confidential TALKING TO THE WRITERS! It's like they knew I'd had a shit week and wanted to make me happy. I've just yelled obscenities at Chibnall. So soothing.

They have a good 20 minutes talking to different writers about Moff's greatest hits. Probably because they know they're about to hear the screams about the end from space. FROM SPACE.

Don't care. I LOVE YOU, MOFF.

FORGIVE MY TOTAL CAPSLOCK. I CAN"T HELP IT RIGHT NOW. infinitemonkeys May 1 2010, 18:54:05 UTC
Okay, so first of all, the episode itself is awesome, implying all sorts of things about River and the finale and the crack in space and not answering them YET IN A GOOD WAY.

But it's the end that will cause the screaming, because in a coda of FABULOUSNESS, Amy asks to be taken home, shows him the wedding dress, the engagement ring, and then basically JUMPS HIS BONES in her bedroom.

He goes all flaily and NO! YOU ARE GETTING MARRIED.

But importantly, NOT "we won't do this because I don't fancy you" just flaily and thinky. All possible interpretations are raised, and none are quashed out of all possibility. There is now a BRONTOSAURUS in the room. ILU MOFF.

"Amy, listen to me. I am 907 years old. Do you understand what that means?"
"It's been a while?"
"Ye-- No. No. No!"

*dies*

Okay, I've taken a break to rewatch the last five minutes and wait for the uncontrollable urge to make dolphin noises to die down. Time to go back and watch my recording of Confidential now.

Doubtless there'll also be spontaneous cries of anguish about the fact that the date has now been pinned down without a shadow of a doubt. Interestingly, if we don't have a skip week forced upon us by Eurovision or something similar, 26 June 2010 will be the date that episode #13 airs. :-)

I think that because they're forcing Doctor Who to go earlier (so that Over The Rainbow is not crushed by the X-Factor juggernaut), and therefore slides in before Eurovision starts, we have a straight run this year.

I am loving this season so hard. The fact that it will piss off a section of the fandom that was pretty foul to some decent people when its narrative was in the ascendancy is just the gloopy, mean-spirited custard on the delicious pie of my fandom glee.
