research for my ASB New Orleans article

St. Bernard Parish is just southeast of New Orleans, where the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita caused 100% damage to residential and commercial structures. As a result, all structures need to be demolished, and then the rebuilding process begins.

The St. Bernard Recovery Project (what we were working on) has been/will be completely filled for four weeks in March and the first two weeks in April--all because of the surge of college students on spring break. Isn't that incredible?

As of this Friday, 749 houses have been cleaned of debris and ready to be demolished in St. Bernard. My team (one of four that GW had down there) cleaned out two complete houses and two halfway.

Its amazing to see the difference you make with your own bare hands, materialized before you.
