Dear God, make me a bird, so I can fly far....evanescentlilyJuly 1 2004, 14:10:22 UTC
I may be diagnosed with an acute case of narcissism for assuming that this entry in part was in response to me running, but hey, I'm allowed to be self-involved today, lol. =) Just felt compelled to post.
Love their black raspberry.....so yummy. And their fudge berry swirl frozen yogurt too ::drooling:: How do west-coasters deal without Friendly's ice cream?
As far as the running goes, anyone can start up a routine. Some are born to love it, and for some it's just not well suited. I ran 5 years of track for our jr/sr high, but I'm not a distance runner. I started off slow, and built a little more each day or week when I thought I could handle it. If you ever want some tips or such, just IM.
I haven't caught the thunder down here, but a dusk lightening storm at the beach would be awesome.

Of course I was aware of your running, and of course it did cause me to think about running. You weren't the first to provoke the feeling though, I have to admit. My problem is that I'm not at all athletic. I think it'd be better for me to walk for a while. If I started out running, I'd probably make it like a half a mile.
The thunder never lead to anything, unfortunately. But I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, anyhow.
happy birthday, again. And have a nice night at the cape.
Thunder was uneventful last night (it was too overcast to even catch sunset) but this morning at 5 am it turned into an awesome storm. Go Friday I say.
Walking is always good. Even if you just do a little a day, like walk down the street a few blocks to CVS instead of driving, or parking further away from work and getting that extra 5-10 min. walk in the morning. Setting little goals for yourself and working your way up makes a huge difference. Just being a little more active can enhance mood so much, and I think you may find that relaxation can balence out anxiety.
Ok, I'm going to stop rambling like a doctor, because obviously I sound wicked pretentious when I really don't mean to be. But I agree with your last poster: as far as running being a talent or skill comprable to singing or otherwise; everyone has their strong suits and those things that just come easily. Focus on those and appreciate them and you will never be dissapointed.

I honestly don't remember what song it was at this point. It was something off of 'Scarlet's Walk' though.
So yeah, I keep meaning to exercise more but I always seem so tired, or distracted by something, or I'm hating the weather (with a vengance, let me tell you). So, yeah, I need a routine to help motivate me. Something to work on, I suppose.
As one who considers herself a runner, and enjoys running, I must come back with the comment that you have always been able to do something that I never will be able to, and that I always wish(ed) I could do. Sing. When I try and sing along with the radio but don't want to sing above the music, I think of you, sitting in class in high school, singing. So, while you may not be able to run, I definetly cannot sing. We all have our talents :)
