I got my grades

Aug 13, 2008 11:54

for my summer classes.

I got an 81% in History 004, and a 78% in Sociology 1.

I probably could have done better. I didn't do too well on the Midterm and the Final Essay for History, which ended up knocking my grade down from a 94% to what I finished with. In Sociology, I missed 3 Short Essay assignments, worth a combined 30 points. I was able to make up about 15 of those point in extra credit, which really helped.

for anyone who's thinking of taking Sociology, I can't say I recommend Mr. Gaviglio. he's a difficult grader. luckily, I think he only teaches the online class and the once-a-week class.

With the passing of those two classes, I'm now 1 class ahead of my pupils (cause I took 3 classes during the summer, but only needed to make up two). For the Fall 2008 semester, I'm taking: French 1, English 2, Math 104, Art 10, and PE 007C. the last two are 9 week classes. PE 007C (Beginners Mountain Biking) starts at the beginning of the semester, ending on the 20th of October. Art 10 starts on the 14th of October, and lasts untl the end of the semester. I'll have a lot on my hands with French, English, and Math, so I'm hoping that those will be fairly easy.

In other news, I've decided that I'm going to save my money to buy a telescope. I'm looking at two currently, one by Meade, the other by Celestron. Both are $1400. I have the money, but its seperated between my wallet, and my various holdings. either way, I need to save about another $800.
Aside from that, I have other things I want to buy too. I might as well make a list, cause I keep having to remind myself: Vans Warped Tour 2008 Ticket, Telescope, 28-inch Computer Monitor, Data Recovery Software, Xbox Live Subscription, Xbox 360 Games, Giant Tortoise, Wii.

At some point in the not too distant future, I will have to buy my Xbox Live subscription, and the Data Recovery software. I have a Best Buy giftcard, and quite a bit of cash on me from returning my books, so I think I'll use both to get a few of those, probably the subscription and the games. but I'll also need at least $60 for the Vans Warped Tour.

also with money, I saw on Tigerdirect that  hard drive prices have come way down since I bought that 750GB hard drive (which is still dead) in January. and I mean way, way down. a 1 TB hard drive is about $170. just 6 months ago, they were over 300!!

either way, I need to save up money.. and get a job.

money, life, school
