Who knew such things were even possible?

Hi. you are going to help me procrastinate my Philosophy homework! yay!!

so, a few rather interesting things have happened in the last few days. I guess I'll go through it all.

Astronomy:We got our Exam #3, and it's due on May 9th. I should probably do it this week, and I need to pick up some Scantrons... and some crickets for the gecko.

oh, and about the Gecko, I've been taking him out more often lately. I figured out that if I put that coral thingy out next to the rock in the window, he'll stay in one place for a lot longer. Also, I noticed he has these calculous build-ups around his digits, which means he's not shedding properly. after soaking him in warm water for 10 or 12 minutes on Tuesday, I was able to peel one off (he doesn't like it), and that one was infected with a fungus. so, I'm going to have to soak him more often so he won't loose any fingers. I also got him to eat some mango, and he bit me a couple times while doing it. hehe. it doesn't hurt. I think the only reason he eats the mango is because I wave it around in his face and bother him. lol.

okay, back to stuff. in Anthropology, we watched this movie on the native cultures of Java, and the surrounding islands. it was really, really interesting. Mark skipped class that day, though, so he missed it. I spent that class period talking to Kendra when I felt like talking. Anyway, one of the Anthropologists in the documentary was sick, so he visited an acupuncturist. Hindu, Buddhist, and Islamic beliefs mixed with the indigenous Animist belief system between the 4th Century and the 14th Century (mostly from India). This guy claimed he could conduct electricity through his body, and demonstrated it on the guy, who underwent muscle spasms. other crew members went up, grabbed part of him, and when he tightened his muscles, they withdrew their hands in haste, as if in pain. Finally, to demonstrate, he took a wad of newspaper, set it on the ground, and then lit it on fire by making a claw of his hand. it smouldered, then burst into flames. I swore when I saw that part. god damn... I'd like to see that done in a laboratory setting.

Philosophy!: Courtney (annoying girl in back) is sitting up in the front now that her friend Samantha is sitting up front. Samantha is the attractive polynesian girl who used to think I was cute or something. Well, now her friend sits next to me. And you know what? I think I have a crush on her. I don't find her as annoying as Mark or Mr. Warren do, and she's very nice to me. she talks to me, and has interesting things to say. she's kind of ditzy, which is generally a turn-off, but she's just so good-looking and easy to flirt with! haha! no one's perfect, and I'm willing to look past things I see as deficient. I do believe that she thinks something of me (whether it's that I'm cute, or just smart), cause sometimes I notice she'll glance over at me. oh, we also got assigned a short write, and have been reading about David Hume.

Biology Class: We're learning about the Nervous System now. we blazed through the Digestive System, the Urinary System, and my personal favourite (with diagrams and pictures!!), the Reproductive System!! nothing of extreme interest ever happens, but I think there will be a test on Monday... still need to buy Scantrons. one thing of note is that Dr. Summers said that the Lab is looking for Dissectors for next semester, so I may try out for that. hope I can get Dr. Itaya.

Biology Lab: we had a test on Monday, which went alright. I got 30 out of 50, which is a D. but I'm okay with it. we also got to see a dissection of various reproductive systems... when they brought out the Human Female Pelvis, I just about gagged... jesus christ... I can't even describe it! it was horrible... cadaver vagina... open wide... ewww. Jennifer and Amber both looked pretty disgusted too, which was kinda funny. hahaha. Later on, in the same lab period, I was talking to Jennifer about different things, mainly weirdness, and how I like being weird. when I asked her what was weird about herself, she responded with: "well, my humour, my personality..." forgot some parts- "And a whole bunch of other stuff that is not appropriate to talk about..." I assumed she meant sexual tendencies, which, quite frankly, I didn't really want to hear about when I said "So what's weird about you?" but it's alright.

That's about it for me. I'm going to bed. good night.
