Wake Up Call [ the first post in a new journal Life afterLife ]
This 3:45 AM to 4:45 AM time slot
It's habitually been my time
The space of the day that I own
All of my AM wakeup sounds
The daily rituals of coming alive again are slated to change
(Note:I say "slated" as in "destined" not "fated" as in "doomed")
The first swish of the dishwasher
The steaming coffeepot with bubbling penetrating the silence
The girls chomping on their breakfast cookies, but only after their bit'o cheese
These motions of the mornings that have become the usual
now will be....
something else.
It could be as easy as putting on a fresh set of clothes.
