Whew! I had a tough night trying to finish the Nanase Futatabi subtitles, thus, I spent the entire day with a headache. No worries. His Prettiness cured me .. just by being his magnificent self!
Bloody Monday 11 certainly whet my appetite for the inevitable movie and/or series II. I don't feel cheated though. In fact, I absolutely can't wait until

I asked several people what they thought of the ending, and they also said they weren't satisfied. I mean, it's a good thing that the drama reflects on reality (and not some lame happy ending where they really did have Christmas together haha) but I thought that nothing got resolved. Fujimaru helped everyone around him, but in turn he was the one who suffered the most. I suppose that's growing up for you, but I'm just so unsettled by that feeling. The poor boy. :(
Well it seemed like he had so much fun filming this! In photos he's always taking pictures, getting along with everyone, laughing. I think especially since this is his first leading drama role and the story is so dramatically unlike the rest, he really got emotional over it.
Speaking of relationships, it's not so much Fujimaru/Aoi that I saw, but lots of Fujimaru/Otoya, haha! Aoi obviously seems to harbour some sort of affection for Fujimaru, but goodness... the overwhelming evidence of him and Otoya! Especially that scene where Fujimaru confronted him. Felt like it was their break-up, haha!
Also, thank you for your advice. :) It really helps when someone from outside tells you about the society here. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depends on how you look at it), I'm not so much a "gaijin" to them on the outward appearance because I'm Asian. I was raised elsewhere though, but I had very Chinese parents and pretty much I have a feeling of both sides of how things work. I will never conform to anything here because there are some things that are absolutely ridiculous, no matter how much I try to understand. But yes, it's a little frustrating when Japanese people talk to me but then I stand there blinking at them and then they're like... oh. You are not Japanese? and look at me stupidly. :/

I'm very much the same. I'm sure many people regard me as cold-hearted. The Japanese I know cry at a drop of a hat, but I simply refuse to do so in public, thus, that causes quite a bit of irritation. However, Haruma just brings out all sorts of emotions in me and I'm quite pleased that I watched the finale alone.

Let me break this down. He got screwed...royally. If that ending wasn't a bitch-slap, nothing was and I think Haruma played up this emotion quite well with his very simple, "aa."
He went through all of that in order to save his family, friends and ultimately the nation and he ends up with two dead friends (one who betrayed him), a dead father and a nation probably in more peril now than it was when this crap first surfaced. Maya, J, butterfly guy and the core of that insane little chick's bomb are still out there. No one is any safer now than they were before.

I'm sure this was it. He shed quite a few tears at the end of Naoko as well. Although Juri Ueno got top billing, it was clearly *his* movie and even she recognized it, thus, it was he who gave the closing speech, which was incredibly long. Of course, the emotions spawned by a movie can't compare with a 11 drama series though. Regardless of the ratings, Haruma has catapulted far ahead of the other guys in his age range. The awesome level of respect that others hold for him is always on display whenever he's interviewed. I feel rather sorry for those who can't understand him and must rely on subtitles because often those subs don't capture the essence of *how* the other person is speaking to him.

It was, wasn't it? What about the "let's get back together and live happily ever after" email? Otoya's smile said it all. I've never written slash, however, whenever Haruma and some other hawt guy are together making googley eyes, I get that feeling. Nonetheless, I know they aren't going that route...it's too bad.
This in itself is quite weird because I think Haruma's the straightest guy out there. Apparently, his chemistry with just about anybody is off-the-charts. I guess he only "failed" with Shida Mirai, but that's probably because she thought of him like her "father." When I read that, I had to do a double-take. Big brother, maybe, but... father? Nah, I don't think so. She said it had to do with his height. He thought it was funny and laughed it off. I demand that they be in another drama where he can show off his stuff because he was cheated in *her* drama. I'm sure she doesn't think that way now...and she hasn't grown more than a centimeter or two. ;) I like her very much and I really would like to see them in something together where he's on even footing with her because *that* drama is the basis for the negative press he gets as an actor, which is ridiculous as he did a dead-on impression of the real Satoshi.
because there are some things that are absolutely ridiculous, no matter how much I try to understand.
I understand quite a bit and I don't mind sharing what I know in order to help others survive this place, however, I simply refuse to conform. This is troublesome for my family, but they learned a long time ago that I don't have a Japanese/Asian fetish. I'm only here because I love Kyle and them, by extension. Sometimes, I simply refuse to use Japanese because I dislike the way saying certain words make me feel. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike Japan. For better or for worse, it is my home. Being here has taught me the value of true freedom, especially when it comes to my mind. In other words, I've become increasingly liberal.
Besides... Haruma is here. ;)
