Haruma's acting in Bloody Monday ep 01

As everyone knows, for me to be a fangirl is somewhat unthinkable. The whole concept of adoring someone who isn't my spouse or my intellectual equal or my age truly goes against my base personality. While it's probably acceptable that Johnny Depp and Viagrabuki can bring out the naughty in me, this whole Haruma thing is a big strange. The love of my life and my and my translation partner  (two different guys) probably spend a lot of time smirking about my Haruma-affection. I'm sure they both think I'm a twit, but I just don't care.

Anyway, I wasn't particularly shocked  when Kyle said at the end of Bloody Monday ep 01, "Haruma was the only one who bothered to act." After all, I felt the same way. Even Takeru didn't capture my interest. I think this hair turns me off.  Anyway, I was floored when my translation partner said, "...Interestingly, I feel like the only redeeming character in the cast is your boy. Everyone else just seemed like they were half-assing." This was unexpected.

Hence, I thought maybe we could discuss what we thought of Haruma's acting in this episode.

First and foremost, I've always believed in Haruma. I think he's always done his best to  bring forth the character exactly as said character was meant to be portrayed. Thus, if a character is wooden, then he will portray said character as such and so forth. Thus, I found Takagi Fujimaru to be perfect in the same vein as Yukawa Manabu and all the others.

There was also a sense that Haruma had no inhibitions at all when he spoke his infamous naughty lines and his "my teacher is so hot" expressions were absolutely perfect. In fact, everything that had anything to do with him as a student was brilliant. There was a naturalness about him that was glorious. I fear I will run out of adjectives before I finish this paragraph. Ahem... then there were those moments in which Fujimaru decided to act, to do something. They were very different from Haruma's prior expressions. He's truly growing up and his range is increasing.

I don't want to hog the conversation, so I'll leave it here in hopes that someone else will add their own thoughts. In something like this, there's no wrong answer. Right?
