I sent a guy in HR with eBay an email today asking him about the status of my application. He wrote back saying that they've decided to go with other candidates, or some such politely worded BS. So basically after doing the job for which they're hiring for two years, I'm not even qualified to get an interview.
I was ambivalent about applying there again, but this really severs all connections for me. Somehow it just seems like a political decision rather than one based on my abilities.
Time for a new plan. It's getting a little scary though. There is really nothing else I'm qualified to do. I'm still cursing myself for not majoring in something useful in college, but there's nothing I can do to change that now.
I think it's time to start canceling unneeded bills (i.e. DirecTV), and deferring more student loans. Time to tighten up that food budget and shut down the cell phone minutes, turn off the space heaters, etc. Maybe all of that will buy me an extra half a month. :-)
