So I'm sitting here
downloading Zatoichi (the new one featuring the wonderful "Beat" Takeshi) and the Wire's second season so I figured I'd update.
It _has_ been awhile and I tend to get overwhelmed with LJ from time to time. It looks like a good number of my communities and friends have been suspended (not exactly unexpected, but certainly disheartening). Since I'm posting again and have actually re-added Motherbitches once again I suspect he has a journal-life of about another 5 days (that seeming to be the average). More folks have added me despite (because of?) the fact that I post highly irregularly, interestingly enough. Still there's smart, decent people still about making good and thought-provoking posts (and arguements) which reminds me that not everyone is an idiot.
To bring you up to date: I saw the Knitters on Valentine's Day with the charming and ever-so-nice darling_effect, who is one of those folks that always knows what to say in a conversation. Being that I typically am horrible at that sort of thing and just don't know what the hell to say to folks I don't know really well, I'm a bit in awe. Hope to hang out with her again soon. The show was storming and great. The bartendress I'd hoped would show up didn't (yeah go ahead - rag on me). I should probably do an entry just on this gig.
I was supposed to see the Melvin's 20th Anniversary show in SF - and did - but missed my friend J whom I was supposed to meet up with there. I hope she's not hating me cos she missed the show or something. Maybe I'll drop by her show Monday night. That was a great show - but a bit short.
I managed to hurt my back at work a couple weeks back which gets to me from time to time. Well that and the allergies.
Anyhow, rather than let this become a whine-fest I'll knock this on the head now. What are you folks up to?
