Today's LJ Writer's Block: Have you ever stopped being friends with someone over differences in political views? Are there any issues that are so important to you that you cannot be friends with someone who holds a contrary opinion?
It apparently seems that several of my former classmates are unable to cope with differing beliefs/opinions following the latest outcry of Church v. State at my high school. It appears as if you side with those agreeing with the superintendent (regardless of your "beliefs"), you are evil-incarnate and therefore cannot be associated with those standing on the other side of the fence.
I recall a remark from a friend on the topic of racism, but I believe it bears merit here: "Anyone that cannot tolerate another human being is repugnant" (to paraphrase).
