Where've you been lately? There's a new kid in town.
Work today was very...memorable.
I came in two hours late. I was supposed to be there at 5:00, but I took a nap and didn't wake up until 5:25. I spent about an hour looking for my glasses. I called work and told them I was going to be late. Rory came over to help me look, and found them for me. They were on my bed. After he left, I figured I might as well be a little more late and eat before I leave. I made Hamburger Helper, ate it, and at 7:00, I had finally arrived at Domino's. I didn't get bitched at at all.
I got a 7 dollar tip today, which is the most I've gotten so far. I made a delivery to the front desk of the Holiday Inn, and it turns out some guy at the bar saw me and decided to place an order. I ended up bringing it to him. He was plastered. At first, he didn't give me enough. So he gave me a five, and just started throwing down ones like my name was Candi. That made me smile.
My manager Mike let me and the other driver who was closing, J.D., stop delivering at 12. J.D. said, "That's cool, as long as we get six bucks each to make up for the money we won't be making." Mike reached into his pocket and pulled out six bucks for each of us. How cool is that? Later, while we were closing, Mike said, "Jack, I'll give you five bucks if you sweep and mop the lobby for me." That has to be the easiest five bucks i ever made.
The number 5 has come up a lot in this entry. Weird.
