Och, I've arrived!
Well ladies and gents, after about two weeks of travel I'm sitting in my new bedroom in Aberdeen. Tomorrow I'll be checking in at the University, Tuesday the meeting with my supervisor, and Wednesday's an orientation for the postgrads. Yay!
Impressions so far: Meh. I can see this being a nice place, but since York was so immediately fantastic and beautiful(I was a two minute walk from Roman ruins, medieval walls, and the Minster) I'm slightly underwhelmed by Aberdeen. That said, I'm sure I'll like things better once I make friends and get to know my way around.
Minor excitement of the day: It seems that the English aversion to peanut butter and chocolate as a flavour combination may not be a thing here in Scotland! I found a little 'welcome to uni' box with snacks on my desk and it included. Reese Cups. ^______^
