Somewhere in a forest. A girl named Aegis told me to follow the river to reach the village. What about you?

You got that right -- this place defies logic. I heard you, Zuko and his girlfriend are here. You do know that Azula is present too, right?

Oh - so you're coming from the river. I'll come meet you, all right? [And he can probably hear her moving around and going to the edge of the village where the river flows in]

Yeah, Zuko's here, as well as Mai and Azula. It's strange, though. They seem to come from different times...

I figured as much from what Shinpachi has told me. He said Zuko was a "good kid," so I'm assuming he's from after the commotion at the Western Air Temple. What about Mai and Azula? [Extra emphasis on Azula there.] And you?

[voice]

Zuko's from after he first arrived at the Temple, yeah. The last thing he says he remembers is coming from your trip to the Boiling Rock. Azula seems to come from way before that, though. I don't think she's even seen the Eclipse happen, yet...

Her friend, Mai, however. She says she's from after the war.

Can you believe it, Sokka? The war's finally going to end. After that play we saw at Ember Island, it was getting a little hard to believe, but...!

[voice]

So he's from after we rescued Dad and Suki. Not seen the Eclipse -- wait. That means she doesn't know . . . [He trails off.] I think I said something I shouldn't have around her.

Mai's from after the war? That's -- this is what we've been fighting for, Katara, of course I can believe it . . .! Of course Aang would win. Forget that stupid play, it told a completely phony future and we both know now that it's not gonna happen!

[voice]

Doesn't know--? Oh great. What did you say...?

And- yes, I know! It's just - it's been such a long journey, and now we know for sure Aang will win, so- I'm just glad that that play was wrong.

I mentioned Aang a couple times. In present tense. She doesn't know he's alive at that point, does she?

Yeah . . . Did you even believe the play from the start? It was horrible.

Of course not! It got so much wrong, I mean - I do not tearbend! Who writes these things, honestly?! The ending, though, and how the rest of the audience reacted... Went to bed a little shaken because of it; and when I woke up, I was here in Luceti, so it was a little weird.
