Peter Steele died during the week. Normally I don't really find myself particularly mourning public figures etc. I can acknowledge others finding it sad, but never feel any such emotion myself. I did with Peter Steele.
I was 18 years old and in my first year at uni. Type O Negative and My Dying Bride were played on RTRFM's Critical Mass (oh how times have changed! imagine CM playing actual not death/grind/etc now! Thats more my job on Behind The Mirror!) and I dug them. I took myself off to Echo Chamber in Belmot forum and bought The Angel and The Dark River, and The Origin Of The Feaces. If it weren't for those 2 albums, I would never ever have discovered most of the music I have, made many of the friends I have, or become the person I am.
I also always envied Peter Steele physically. What wonderful looking beast of a man!
So, to you Peter Steele - I hope you come back as an awesome music playing Zombie.
