Yes! it works.

In fact it was a Chocolate and beetroot cake that i cut into 2, then layered thinly some cream and strawberrys between the 2 peices, and then finally made some cocoa and dark chocolate icing which was thinly spread on top. Yummy ;)

Ooh. i missed a big step. GRATE the beetroot. So its grated when you add it. Just add it raw.
