[Geek] Window managers
Are there any window managers which allow you to partition your desktop and have applications snap into those partitions, such that when you maximise them, they take up the maximum allowed space for that partition?
Part of the reason I tend to work with all my applications maximised is because I don't think I should have to manage size and positioning manually, but occasionally I need to have two or more things visible at once so that I can read from one and work in another. I know a multi-monitor setup would alleviate this, but that's not something my company is going to pay for.
I don't really care what OS they're on, I'd just be interested to know that someone has experimented with that kind of layout management.
