So here's what I'm thinking...
I generally score "above average" on tests. So I kinda at least want to take the ACT and my shot at college. I know I more than likely will not get a scholarship, but there are other ways to go about it. I would of course have to figure these ways out, but I'm pretty sure I could get some help.
I don't really expect much from it. After all, I haven't always been the scholarly type. But, if I have an opportunity to better myself, then I have to try.
I'm not sure what I would study either, but probably something along the lines of Sociology or Psychology, and maybe a little bit of a foreign language. I've been interested in these subjects for as long as I can remember, so I'm sure my curiousity would not dwindle while studying.
But I don't want to think too much about it. That tends to get me too invested in things; and I don't want to put all of my eggs in one basket, so to speak, over wishful thinking.
I'm still set on enlisting of course, but I just need to think all of my options through. Maybe I can in fact go to college and a) try to become an officer, or b) gain a valuable skill for a post military career in government, such as FBI etc. MAYBE EVEN TEH PWESIDENT OF DA WHOLE WORLD!
Juan (Josh, your new name is Juan now) sent me a trial subscription for EVE Online, so I think I'll check that out tomorrow.
Anyway, I feel bad. Drama, drama, drama - always with the drama! I don't see why some validate their manhood through aggression. Dog eat dog world, true enough. However, the smartest dog eats the best meals...
Think I'll make this end quote a soliloquy from a pretty good show...(Trigun)
"A choice between two things. The forked road every person brought into this world must eventually face. A crossroad. Whichever path they choose, they lose something. Whichever path they choose, they are unable to find happiness. But are there really only two paths to a forked road? No, there are infinite paths we could take. There is more than one path we should take. There is more than one path to the future."
