Author’s Note: So! Um, here goes my first (and let's hope for everyone's sake, last) awkward attempt at a podfic. See, I got this au_bingo card and I hope to fill each square, but my poor little brain was like, "Bro, Cherie, I'll fucking just quit this job if you're telling me we're about to try and write 25 things for this." And I was like, "Fear not, little brain. We can try some of the other types of fanworks for the prompts you really aren't feeling! :D" One of the more DNW-y prompts for me was "The Long Weekend," because historical AUs are, like, labor intensive, and I am not about to start doing research for a goddamn bingo fill. And then I remembered that I'd read this lovely timestamp and greatly enjoyed it many moons ago and it fit the time period and was also very short. You can do a podfic for a fill and it only needs to be 500 words, so I thought, "Hey! If it's short enough, I can knock it out in one quick read through and it won't matter that I don't know how to edit! :DDDDD" LIKE 80 TRIES LATER, this is what I have for you. I'm really sorry about it. I know I stumble on myself a few times in the end and start talking fast every now and then, but it was legitimately like 7 in the morning and I literally have 6 recordings of this and that's only the ones I didn't fuck up so much I went "FUCK!" and started all over again on, so. THIS WAS HARD AND I GAVE UP AND WENT TO BED. The gist of these author's notes: just move along and don't listen to this, but do read the fic as it's decidedly more enjoyable than my blabbering. Thanks to obstinatrix for allowing me to use her fic as my guinea pig, inanna_maat for allowing me to use her lovely art to make this podfic look considerably more legit than it is, cantarina1 & weimar27 for giving me some Podfic for Dummies info on converting this to mp3, and finally, thanks to unavoidedcrisis for downloading this and assuring me everything was working without making too much fun of me.
Summary: En bref: Jensen is a rumrunner, Misha owns a speakeasy, Jared is an orphaned 17-year-old newsboy Misha rescued off the street. Jensen meets him when he gets back from one of his illegal alcohol runs, and then they dun sex.
