Author’s Note: I created this cover for the 2017 podficbigbang. I got to work with the lovely analise010, who in addition to recording a great story with wonderful energy and a lovely flair for characters also had some really great ideas about how to incorporate the story into the art. It was her idea to play on Eliot's angsty outsider POV throughout the fic by showing Parker and Hardison in color while he's living in black and white. I also tried to then work that idea into the lettering by having the splashes of teal popping out after the white. And then I wanted to capture the way that his life bursts into color when he's with them. I think my favorite thing about making this art was just that I got to indulge my obsession with HGTV--the story is set in a fancy planned community, so I looked for the sort of stereotypical "ideal" kitchen and living spaces and then put the characters into those. I'm actually really happy with how the manips turned out (though I know the bottom panel is a little pixelated). Anyway, I hope you like the art and PLEASE listen to the wonderful podfic that inspired it! I have long been a podfic lover and really felt like I was getting away with something by getting a "sneak peek" into this one. Also, a big thank you to my friend eosrose for modding the challenge (er, and sending me claiming date reminders on Twitter XD).
Summary: He knows it’d be so fucking easy, if he’d let himself. Because he’s easy for them, has been since that first job, since the day he hauled Hardison’s ass out of a building about to explode. It’d be so easy.
