Normally late 7 month update

Aug 07, 2006 03:20

Hm. I wonder if I should stop terming them "# month update" already? Might be positive to the whole recovery-process. Then again, if I stop updating every month at this time, then I'll entirely forget to update, which is bad. Also, I'll forget to pay my rent. So...hm.

Right, let's see. Last month, what's 'appened? Over the weeks, I can't say much has happened. I've hung around, and, err, chilled. And. Uhm. Stared at the computer screen and sort of. Chilled. Yes. There was a boat trip, and a lot of hanging out in Helsinki. Also, there was drinking and celebrating my birthday (25.7. Remember that date!). And summer-cottage. Mhmmm...summer cottage. ^_^

Ah, yes. And this weekend there was also wedding. Right, so, Arwena invites me as her avec to her friend's wedding. I know no-one, but happily oblige. So that I can suit up. I don't often get to wear a suit, so it's fun when I do. Also, weddings are normally fun by default. Lots of elementary-school friends of hers are expected to show up, and I'm like, to be introduced. Scary though, but I promised to behave and be nice and such. Anyway, after getting the neighbours to take care of the bunny for Saturday, I head off to Helsinki on Friday to hang out with *forgets how to do the linking thing* Joe and A, watch this hilarious french movie which just can't decide what it wants to be, and then head back to teh sleeping. Saturday there's ironing of shirt and getting dressed and preparing, and a quarter past noon (see? I -can- remember!) we're driven off to the wedding by A's mom. Very nice of her ^^

Aaand...yeees. Wedding at this strange-looking church, built a bit like a spire? I got to meet a bunch of friends, mostly named things beginning with M, at the foot of the stairs. Very nice people, all around, although I mostly stood there quietly and boiled in the sun. Ceremony was nice, not that many people, and rather short (although I believe their wee baby, Sakarias [or is that with a c?] objected a bit). Bride looked glorious. Ahm. Afterwards we all ambled off to the reception, not at all far (apparently the groom's childhood home), where were nicely welcomed by the father of the groom (right?), and got to drink bubbly wine and hang out some more. Arwena got drunk at this point, after two glasses of the bubbly stuff. I'm sorry, dear, I just had to point it out. It was very sweet :D. Ahm, ahm, then there was eating (ooh, food = good), and chatting, and hanging out. I also got to meet this other childhood friend of Arwena's who weren't in our group, whom I later danced with ^^

Ah yes, the dancing. After the speeches and the magician and the coffee and all zat stuff, there was time for the wedding waltz. All to traditional Finnish humppa, of course. I took it upon myself to dance with anyone I could find, starting with Arwena herself, naturally. Now, disclaimer, disclaimer : I can't really dance. But I enjoy it nonetheless. At least I generally don't step on people's toes and I have some sense of rhytm, but yes ; thought I had to point it out. Anyway, I got turned down like, once (heartbroken, I am, heartbroken!), but I did get a lot of dancing out of Arwena's friends. Also a good time to make smalltalk and refresh my memory about things like names (although the names elude me again. Oop). We stuck around for quite some time, until finally we didn't any longer, and headed out to Manala for some jatkot. Dressed in our finest, of course. [speaking of; me and A were very nicely colour-coordinated. Blue dress, blue tie, silver bling-bling on her, silver cufflinks on me, white handbag, white shirt. Only the tie was actually planned. Since I got that for mah birthday. A very unselfish and loving gift! Colour-coordination! ^^]

Manala was nice. Observation ; music = teh heavy, people = teh normal club-goers. I wonder if this is a normal phenomenon anywhere else but in teh Finland. I danced in Manala once again, and drunk some drinks and such. A very nice time actually :) Alas we were not joined by some of my friends who were also in Helsinki, due to the silliness of the 22-years-of-age rule at the door. Like, duh. >_< Anyways, at like, 2 or somesuch we decided that our feet hurt too much and headed home, with a taxi! Paid for! Wootwoot!

Got home, got into bed. Well. Yes. Anyway. I had a good weekend. On sunday it was back to Inkoo to save the bunny and the fishies from dying of starvation. And now I need to go to bed. Folks came back from Norway, finally. Note : Norway is very pretty, but after 500 pictures of breathtakingly beautiful vistas over cloud-covered glaciar mountains lit by the brilliant sun you just don't want to see any more. Myes.

Argh, yawn. I should like, update more often. Like, maybe after every weekend or after every event of some importance. Then this'd actually be a journal and not random once-a-month-I-can't-remember-when-we-did-what disjointed posts of doom. Hmm.

Future -> next weekend : ROPECON, my first ever. Eeps
weekend after next weekend : Engeleand? Rowr. Money-abyss! And Jutta.
the far future : can't remember. Probably got something to do. Maybe getting-back-from-England :P

Aurruarr...I need bed. 4 AM-ishness. I don't know if I can't make it to Turku tomorrow, all depends on how glarrgh I'm feeling and when I'm getting up and etc and so forth and on. Also if it's easier and more convenient to come directly from Turku or if I should go from Inkoo (cheaper it would be, yees). Then again...hm. I dunno. That's tomorrow's worry. I know I'm too tired when my vision becomes weird. That ever happen to you? Like you're zoomed out in life, like someone made your FOV negative or something, so that everything seems fricken weirdly sized, like your eyes are too deep in your skull or maybe that you're looking through a computer screen (looking at a computer screen) at your hands typing away. It's really rather scary and fucked up. Err. Yes. BED. Myech.
